Second time I’ve used Ben and he was excellent again. I had a leaky hot-water connection to my washer and water was spraying everywhere (a DIY attempt made it worse). Ben immediately understood what was happening, gave me a quote on the spot, and the final price matched the quote exactly. He arrived right at 7:00am and fixed the issue quickly and professionally. He’s been a plumber for 15+ years and owns the company, so it’s great working directly with the owner/master plumber. Reasonable pricing, great communication, and quality work. Highly recommend. 1st review Ben was fantastic. He was quick to respond, up front about his pricing and on-time. I was very impressed by his knowledge and his willingness to do a better than good job. Would I hire him again? Absolutely. A good guy, a good job, and good pricing. Just what you’re looking for in a plumber. And he cleaned up after himself!

Our son just bought his first house and wouldn’t you know it, the first night we spent there, the sewer line backed up and overflowed. On a Sunday morning, we called Whitestone Plumbing. We randomly picked them because they were close and it looked like the owner was actually the person doing the work. In fact, Harley(Ben), the owner answered our call and said he would be there in less than 2 hours. Remember, this is Sunday morning. He arrived early, did not charge extra for a weekend call and quickly found the issue using state of the art equipment. He got us up and running quickly and scheduled a day to come back and fix the problem (roots in the sewer line). That was done just like he said he would and we didn’t even have to be there. Harley was very professional, did what he said he would do, when he said he would do it and we feel his prices were very fair. We are from a small town and have grown to expect this kind of service. We never expected to find this in a large metropolitan area, but that’s exactly what we got with Whitestone Plumbing. We highly recommend this business and will not hesitate to call again for our plumbing needs.

Ben from Whitestone Plumbing was really nice, very attentive and responsive. He got here and was in and out in maybe 20 minutes. It was such an easy experience, and he was just a really nice person overall. He took care of the issue right away and even mentioned he wouldn’t charge me if he wasn’t able to unclog my toilet, which I really appreciated. I would definitely recommend Whitestone Plumbing!

Ben was amazing! He showed up exactly when he said he would. Was courteous and professional and answered all my questions. He was able to clear a drain that someone else wasn't able to clear. He located the issue (my AC drains to that sink!), worked hard to clear the clog, then showed me how I could do maintenance to keep it clear. VERY fair pricing as well. Would definitely call him again!

Best plumber ever. My instance Whitestone was 1/2 of the quotes i got from 3 others. Previous home owners had installed a water softener and done the piping themselves. It was poorly done, overly complicated and looked like hammered crap. I sent Whitestone pics of the spaghetti install. Whitestone replaced and upgraded the pvc nightmare to copper. As an aside, i don't normally trust service repair persons to be there when I am not home. I had no issues with Whitestone. Would easily give them the key and let them work when I wasn't home. Also, they cleaned up their mess. I have had electricians and plumbers make a mess, leave it, and insist it's not their problem. Whitestone treated my home like their own.

Water Heater Repair in Cedar Park, TX

Failing heating elements are the most common cause of no hot water in electric water heating systems. These elements sit directly in the water and can burn out or become coated in mineral scale over several years. We use specialized testing tools to check the continuity and electrical draw of each element to find the failure. Replacing a burnt-out element is a cost-effective way to restore your home’s hot water without replacing the whole tank. Our technicians also inspect the thermostats to ensure they are communicating correctly with the new heating components. We verify that the water reaches the target temperature before we consider the repair job finished. Proper electrical repairs ensure your unit operates safely and efficiently for your family’s daily needs.

Pilot light outages in gas water heaters often stem from a dirty burner or a failing thermocouple safety device. If your pilot will not stay lit, the unit cannot ignite the main burner to heat the water in the tank. We professionally clean the pilot assembly and replace worn thermocouples to restore reliable ignition for your system. Our team also checks the gas control valve for any signs of internal failure or external fuel leaks. We ensure that the burner flame is steady and blue, indicating a safe and efficient combustion process. Dealing with gas components requires the technical skill and licensing that our team brings to every job. Your safety is our primary concern when we are working on any gas-fired appliance in your home.

Leaking Temperature and Pressure (T&P) relief valves are a sign that your system is under too much stress. This valve is a critical safety feature that opens to prevent your water heater tank from exploding due to high pressure. We investigate whether the valve is simply worn out or if your home is suffering from excessive thermal expansion. If your home’s water pressure is too high, we can install a pressure-reducing valve to protect all your plumbing fixtures. Replacing a faulty T&P valve is a quick repair that ensures your water heater remains safe for your household. We never ignore a dripping relief valve because it is a signal of a much larger underlying problem. Trust our expertise to keep your home’s pressure at a safe and consistent level.

Sediment buildup at the bottom of the tank can cause a variety of performance issues and unusual noises. You might hear popping or rumbling sounds as steam bubbles struggle to escape through a layer of hardened mineral scale. This sediment also acts as an insulator, making the burner run longer and work harder to heat the water inside. We provide professional flushing services to clear out these mineral deposits and restore the efficiency of your unit. Regular flushing prevents the bottom of the tank from overheating and developing a permanent leak or rupture. Our 20 years of experience allow us to perform thorough flushes that extend the life of your equipment. We provide honest advice on how to manage hard water issues in the Cedar Park area.

Broken dip tubes are a hidden cause of lukewarm water that can be difficult for a homeowner to diagnose. The dip tube is responsible for directing cold water to the bottom of the tank so it doesn’t mix with the hot water. If the tube cracks or disintegrates, cold water enters the top of the tank and leaves through the hot water outlet immediately. We can inspect and replace a failing dip tube to ensure you get the full capacity of hot water from your tank. This repair can make an older water heater feel like a brand-new unit for a fraction of the cost. Our technicians are skilled at identifying these subtle mechanical failures that impact your daily comfort and luxury. We take pride in the thoroughness of our diagnostic process for every client we serve.

Corroded anode rods are the silent cause of tank failure that we find during many of our repair visits. The anode rod is designed to rust so that your steel water heater tank does not have to corrode. Once the rod is completely eaten away by the water, the tank itself begins to rust and will eventually leak. We can replace a depleted anode rod to add several more years of life to your existing water heater. This is one of the most effective preventative repairs a homeowner can invest in for their plumbing infrastructure. We provide honest recommendations on the best type of replacement rod for your home’s specific water chemistry. Maintaining the sacrificial rod is the key to preventing a catastrophic and expensive tank rupture.

We believe in transparency and integrity throughout the entire water heater repair process for our local neighbors. After our initial diagnostic, we explain exactly what is wrong and provide a clear price for the professional fix. Our goal is to provide a 5-star service experience that makes your home maintenance easier and more predictable. Ben Helton oversees all our quality standards to ensure every technician provides elite care and technical excellence. We treat your property with respect and ensure the work area is clean when we are finished with the job. You can count on Whitestone Plumbing for the most reliable and professional water heater repairs in Central Texas. We value your business and work hard to maintain our reputation for honesty and skill. Trust the experts to restore your hot water today.

What Makes A Top Rated Water Heater Repair

A top-rated water heater repair service is defined by a commitment to technical precision and honest customer communication. The best plumbers use advanced diagnostic tools to identify the root cause of a failure rather than just replacing parts. Reliability is essential, meaning the company offers fast response times to ensure your family is not without hot water for long. Clear and upfront pricing ensures that homeowners feel respected and understand the value of the professional repair. A 5-star provider is fully licensed and insured, meeting all local Cedar Park building codes and safety regulations for every job. Technicians should have extensive experience with both gas and electric systems and be familiar with all major appliance brands. Good communication helps the customer understand why a part failed and how to prevent similar issues through regular maintenance. A professional job also includes a clean workspace and a thorough test of the unit’s safety and performance after the repair. Finally, a locally owned business provides a level of accountability and community trust that large national franchises cannot match.

Most Common Water Heater Repair Questions

Dealing with a water heater failure leads to many questions about the safety, cost, and longevity of your unit. Here are the most common inquiries we receive regarding professional water heater repair in our local area.

Lukewarm water is often caused by a failing heating element in an electric unit or a broken dip tube in a gas tank. If the upper heating element fails, the water will never reach the high temperature you expect for your shower. If the dip tube is broken, cold water mixes with the hot water at the top of the tank before it leaves. We use specialized equipment to check the electrical components and the internal plumbing of your water heater for you. Our technicians can quickly identify the source of the temperature drop and provide a professional, lasting repair. Restoring your home’s hot water capacity is our primary goal during these diagnostic service calls.

In some cases, a buildup of mineral scale on the heating elements can also act as an insulator and reduce heat transfer. This is very common in Cedar Park because of the high mineral content in our local municipal water supply. We can professionally clean or replace the elements to improve the performance and efficiency of your water heater. Our 5-star service includes a thorough check of the thermostat settings to ensure they are accurate and safe. Sometimes a simple adjustment is all that is needed to bring your water back to the perfect temperature. We provide honest answers and clear pricing for all of our temperature-related water heater repairs and services. Trusting a professional ensures your home remains comfortable and your plumbing stays in top condition.

Another possibility is that your water heater is simply too small for your household’s current hot water demand. If your family has grown or you have added a large soaking tub, the unit may be struggling to keep up. We provide an honest assessment of your heater’s capacity and can recommend upgrades if a repair won’t solve the problem. Our 20 years of experience allow us to design and maintain systems that are perfectly balanced for modern family living. We take the time to explain the technical reasons behind your lukewarm water so you can make an informed decision. You can count on Whitestone Plumbing for elite technical care and a commitment to excellence on every visit. We are the trusted experts in residential water heating that Central Texas families rely on for quality.

Whether to repair or replace an older water heater depends on the condition of the tank and the cost of the repair. Most traditional water heaters have a design life of about 8 to 12 years before the internal lining begins to fail. If your unit is over 10 years old and has a major leak or a dead tank, replacement is usually the better value. A new unit will be much more energy-efficient and will come with a fresh manufacturer’s warranty for your peace of mind. However, if the tank is in good shape and only needs a small part like a thermocouple, a repair is a smart choice. We provide an honest recommendation based on a thorough inspection of your unit’s infrastructure and health.

Repairing an old unit can sometimes lead to a “cascade” of failures where one part after another begins to break down. We look for signs of heavy rust and mineral buildup that indicate the tank is nearing the end of its reliable service life. If we see significant corrosion on the bottom of the tank, we will advise you that a replacement is a safer long-term investment. Our goal is to provide a 5-star service experience that protects your home from the risk of a catastrophic tank rupture. We offer free estimates for new installations and provide clear pricing for all of our water heater repair options. Ben Helton oversees our operations to ensure every client receives the most reliable and transparent plumbing advice in the community. Trust Whitestone Plumbing to help you make the best decision for your home’s budget and safety.

If you decide to replace the unit, we can offer professional installation of several high-quality brands and high-efficiency models. Modern water heaters feature better insulation and faster recovery rates than units built just a decade ago for homeowners. We ensure the new heater is perfectly integrated with your existing gas or electrical lines for a long-lasting and reliable setup. Our team removes the old unit and disposes of it properly so you don’t have to deal with the heavy lifting. We treat every job, whether a small repair or a full replacement, with the same level of care and technical skill. You can count on our 20 years of experience to provide the best plumbing expertise available in the local Cedar Park area. We are dedicated to keeping your home safe and your hot water running perfectly for many years to come.

A loud popping or banging sound is usually caused by a buildup of mineral sediment at the bottom of the water heater tank. As the burner heats the water, steam bubbles become trapped under the layer of hardened scale and eventually “pop” as they escape. This noise is a clear signal that your water heater is working much harder than it should to heat the water. Over time, this extra stress can cause the tank to overheat and eventually leak or fail entirely in your home. We recommend a professional tank flush to remove this sediment and restore the quiet operation and efficiency of your unit. Regular maintenance is the best way to prevent these noisy and damaging mineral accumulations for you.

Hard water minerals like calcium and magnesium are the primary cause of these sediment deposits in our Central Texas neighborhoods. If left unaddressed, the sediment can also clog the drain valve and make future maintenance much more difficult for the homeowner. Our technicians are highly skilled at performing thorough flushes that clear out even the most stubborn mineral buildups safely. We use professional techniques to ensure the tank is cleaned without damaging the internal lining or the heating components of the unit. A clean tank heats water faster and uses less energy, which lowers your monthly utility bills and saves you money. Trusting a professional for this maintenance ensures your unit remains in top condition for its entire service life.

If the noise persists after a flush, it could be a sign that the sediment has hardened into a solid mass that cannot be removed. In these cases, we provide an honest assessment of whether the unit is still safe to operate or if it needs replacement. We provide clear pricing and 5-star service for all of our water heater maintenance and repair calls in Cedar Park. Our goal is to provide a solution that enhances your home’s comfort and protects your property from future plumbing emergencies. You can count on our 20 years of experience to handle even the most challenging water heater noise issues with precision. Ben Helton and our team are dedicated to providing the best plumbing and safety solutions for our local community. Trust Whitestone Plumbing for the most reliable and professional water heater care available today.

If you see water pooling around the base of your water heater, you should shut off the water and power immediately. A leak from the bottom of the tank usually indicates that the internal glass lining has failed and the steel has rusted through. Unfortunately, a leaking tank cannot be repaired and requires a full replacement of the water heater to ensure your safety. Continued use of a leaking tank can lead to a sudden rupture and thousands of dollars in water damage to your home. We provide fast response times for these emergencies to help you secure your property and find a long-term solution. Our team offers free estimates and honest pricing for the professional installation of a new, reliable water heater.

Sometimes a leak that appears to be coming from the bottom is actually a dripping valve or a connection point higher up. We perform a thorough inspection of the Temperature and Pressure (T&P) relief valve and the supply lines to find the true source. If a valve is leaking, we can often replace it and save you the cost of a full water heater replacement. Our technicians use specialized equipment to check for hidden moisture behind the insulation or under the unit’s base. We provide a clear and honest diagnosis so you don’t spend money on a new tank if you don’t have to. Protecting your home from water damage is our primary concern during every service call we make in Cedar Park. You can trust our integrity and technical skill to solve your water heater problems correctly.

If the tank must be replaced, we can help you choose a new model that offers the best energy efficiency and warranty for your budget. We handle the entire process, including the removal of the old unit and the professional connection of the new one for you. Our 5-star service includes installing a proper drain pan and ensuring the unit is fully code-compliant for your safety. We work efficiently to restore your hot water service as quickly as possible so your family can get back to their routine. Ben Helton oversees all our quality standards to ensure every Cedar Park homeowner receives elite care and reliable results. You can rely on our 20 years of experience for all of your water heater and plumbing needs in the local community. Trust Whitestone Plumbing for a professional and considerate response to your most urgent home emergencies.

A “rotten egg” smell in your hot water is usually caused by an old or failing sacrificial anode rod inside the tank. The anode rod is designed to rust so your tank doesn’t have to, but certain types of bacteria can react with the rod. This chemical reaction produces hydrogen sulfide gas, which creates that distinctive and unpleasant odor whenever you run the hot water faucets. We can replace your current anode rod with a specialized zinc or aluminum-magnesium rod to eliminate the smell at the source. This repair also ensures that your tank remains protected from corrosion and maintains its full service life for you. Our technicians are experts at identifying and solving these water quality issues for our neighbors in Cedar Park.

If the smell is present in both your hot and cold water, the issue is likely coming from your main water supply or well. However, if it only occurs when you use the hot water, the problem is definitely located inside your water heater tank. We provide professional cleaning and sanitizing services to remove the bacteria and odors from your plumbing system safely and effectively. Our 5-star service includes a thorough check of your water chemistry to find the best long-term solution for your home’s water. We provide honest answers and clear pricing for all of our water heater maintenance and repair services in the local area. You don’t have to live with bad-smelling water when the experts at Whitestone Plumbing are just a phone call away. Trust us to restore the quality and freshness of your home’s hot water supply today.

We also check the temperature settings on your water heater to ensure they are high enough to discourage bacterial growth. A setting that is too low can allow certain microbes to thrive in the warm environment of the tank over time. We provide expert advice on the safest and most effective ways to manage your home’s hot water health for your family. Our team uses high-quality parts and professional techniques to ensure your repair is permanent and provides the best results. Ben Helton has built our reputation on over 20 years of reliable service and a 5-star commitment to excellence on every job. When you hire us, you are supporting a locally owned company that truly cares about the well-being of its customers. You can count on us for the most professional and thorough water heater services available in the Central Texas region today.

Most common water heater repairs, such as replacing a heating element or a thermocouple, can be completed in about one to two hours. Our technicians arrive with a wide variety of parts on their trucks to ensure we can fix the problem in a single visit. We work efficiently to minimize the time your family is without hot water and ensure everything is clean when we leave. Our team provides a clear timeline during our free estimate so you can plan your day around the professional work. You can expect a professional and timely experience when you choose our locally owned plumbing company in Cedar Park.

If the water heater must be drained to perform the repair, the process will take more time depending on the amount of sediment in the tank. We are the trusted experts for residential plumbing and water heating services in the local area.

Hiring a licensed plumber for water heater repair is essential for ensuring your home is safe, functional, and fully code-compliant. These units involve a combination of high-pressure water, combustible gas, or high-voltage electricity that requires technical expertise to handle correctly. A mistake in a gas connection can lead to a fire or carbon monoxide poisoning, while poor wiring can cause an electrical short. A licensed professional has the training to identify safety hazards and perform the secure repairs needed for your long-term peace of mind. Your home is far too valuable to trust such a critical utility to anyone other than a qualified and experienced expert. Trusting a professional ensures the job is done right and provides a permanent solution to your water heater problems.

Licensed professionals carry the necessary liability insurance to protect you and your property during the repair process in your home. We use high-quality, professional-grade parts that are more durable and reliable than the “universal” kits found at local hardware stores. You can count on us for the best residential water heater repair and plumbing services available in the Central Texas area today.

A pilot light that won’t stay lit is often caused by a faulty thermocouple or a buildup of dust and debris in the pilot assembly. The thermocouple is a safety sensor that detects the heat of the flame and allows the gas valve to remain open for the unit. if the sensor is bent, dirty, or worn out, it will incorrectly signal that the flame is out and shut off the fuel supply. We can quickly clean the assembly or replace the thermocouple to restore the reliable ignition of your water heating system. Our technicians also check for external drafts or venting issues that might be physically blowing the flame out during operation.

Another possibility for recurring pilot issues is a failing gas control valve that is no longer able to maintain a steady flow of fuel. If the internal magnets or seals in the valve are compromised, the unit will shut down randomly even if the pilot is healthy. We use specialized diagnostic tools to test the millivolt output of the thermocouple and the integrity of the main gas valve. Replacing a control valve is a precise technical repair that requires the licensing and expertise our team brings to every job. We ensure that the gas pressure is set correctly to prevent “sooting” or incomplete combustion that can lead to further mechanical failures. Your family’s safety is our primary concern when we are working on the fuel systems of your home.

In newer high-efficiency water heaters, a pilot light that goes out may be triggered by a “Vapor Sensor” or a thermal switch. These safety devices shut down the unit if they detect flammable vapors or excessive heat in the burner chamber to prevent a fire. We inspect the combustion air intake for any obstructions, such as lint or pet hair, that could be causing the unit to overheat.
